We finally landed our very own piece of paradise on 7 acres – Cypress Bayou Farm, a farm house made out of cypress on Indian Bayou. A perfect name for our perfect place. What’s even more exciting? This bayou gypsy officially has her own bayou! When I started this blog, I didn’t know I would call myself the bayou gypsy and I didn’t know that I would one day live on a bayou but watching God’s plan for my life unfold is truly incredible.
Now you know what I’ve been working on for the past couple of months. All the stress, countless emails, late nights, packing, unpacking, money, time and energy was worth it when I finally enjoyed morning coffee on this fantastic back porch. The quiet of the early morning has always been my favorite time of the day. My early morning routine of Bible readings and devotions are just a little different these days. I have company now…
Abby James discovered the cows on our first morning and stood guard for quite awhile, barking off and on. After much effort on our part, Abby finally called it quits and gradually adjusted to the new neighbors.
We have lots of things to do around here in preparation for farm animals in the near future. The barn and fencing will need to be upgraded so that the farm can operate properly. It may take some time but it will be a glorious journey. Watching Andrew piddle around the farm makes my heart smile. He seems right at home.
I’m digging the cowboy boots and shorts look these days.
And now our story begins at Cypress Bayou Farm…come wander with me.
So inviting , I love your photos! It really tells a good story. I know you will be really happy there. It will take time but that is the fun of it.
