Welcome! I am Catherine, also known as the bayou gypsy, born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Over the years, my gypsy spirit planted roots in Austin, TX, Seattle, WA and Delray Beach, FL but the bayou state kept calling my name. Thank goodness for the pull back home in 2007 because that is when I met and married my husband, Andrew.
We relocated to 7 acres in Zachary, LA a few years ago and have built our farm one animal at a time. It’s our slice of paradise which includes 3 rescue pups (Abby James, Dixie and Gypsy), 2 rescue horses (Sparkle and Freedom), a small Angus cow (Ruby Sue), 33 chickens, 4 turkeys (Leroy, Luann, Fred & Frank), 4 barn cats and everything else southern. We are hoping to eventually add a llama or alpaca, peacocks and many more chickens if I have anything to do with it.
I have started this personal blog to chronicle our new found farm life, the battles and blessings of our ongoing infertility, our recent adoption of Lucy Pearl and the exciting adventures this bayou gypsy and her cowboy get into on the regular. I dabble in a little bit of everything and will share it all with you one wild ride at a time.
Come wander with me…y’all!
Beautiful story! My friends also found one like this, Tasha Kelly? Unless it’s same horse! Anyway, I had a paint like that I had to put down last August!( of course he was much fatter! Lol) Broke my heart! By the way , love Strategy!! Great feed! Bless y’all and wish him the best!

Oh yes, We have a neighbor named Tasha & her husband Sean. Not sure about their last name but she was with us that night. They enjoy our horses, always visiting with them😊 I’m so sorry you lost your horse last year. I don’t want to think about that day for ours. Thanks for stopping by the blog!! Come again😊
