As I prepared for the brunch, I reflected on my incredible journey and was overcome with emotion as I mentally walked through the pain and sorrow of 5.5 years of infertility. I remember vividly the brokenness during the long wait.
I remember my cries to God for a child. I remember my restless heart, searching for the purpose of the pain. And it was there, in the darkness, I met my maker face to face. His arms were open wide and His love covered my wounds, healing them one at a time. It was still a hard road but knowing my value in Christ allowed me to realize I wasn’t forgotten because I am a beloved child of God. My fervent prayers to God opened my eyes, heart and mind to His love all around me. I was able to appreciate the struggle and embrace the wait, knowing the Lord was at work.
As I stood before the ladies, I was reminded once again of the Lord using my hurt for His glory. He always has and He always will. Sharing my story is victory in my eyes. My infertility/adoption journey became a transformative spiritual journey that I wouldn’t give up for anything in this world.

As someone that has walked the hard road of infertility, I hoped to convey the underlying beauty in the barren wasteland they may be in right now. And the beauty will always be Jesus.

My lovely adoption sister Holly Ann was kind enough to video me this past weekend. Whether you are struggling with infertility/adoption or not, you may find encouragement in my message below:
If you or anyone you know is struggling with infertility, please know you aren’t alone. If you can connect with Sarah’s Laughter, I encourage you to reach out. There are support groups starting up in new cities all over the country thanks to our wonderful founder Beth Forbus and her newest addition to the Sarah’s Laughter team, Shannon Berthelot.

There is also a fabulous Sarah’s Laughter Podcast and you can tune in each week to listen to women bare their heart and encourage you on your journey. Be on the lookout in the next couple months because this gypsy girl has already recorded a podcast which covers all the details of our infertility/adoption journey. I’ll certainly share the link when it’s posted and available for you.
